History
The current growth of the companies “Egger” and “Montan”
made the demand for a new, bigger site become even more urgent.
Further steps followed:
- Feasibility study for Austria's Ministry for Transportation, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT), SCHIG 2004
- Survey potential – provide proof of the need for a terminal and define the derived requirements
- Analysis of the different locations showed Kapfenberg
- Rough concept/volume planning of the site
- Investigation: Regional planning, environment, traffic and practicability
- Presentation of the study on the 14.12.2004
Result of the study: “A modern kV Terminal in the region necessary and sensible”
The first ground was broken on the 22. 12. 2005.
It is opening not even 2 years later in the autumn of 2007.
